Happening at Harvester

Harvester Arts’ core values are Experimentation, Capacity Building, and Community Engagement.

Our programming builds the creative capacity of the community through arts experimentation, public art projects, artist residencies, and professional development for artists.

Harvester’s new home

Did you hear the news? Harvester is moving!

We’re absolutely ecstatic to be moving Harvester Arts gallery operations to The LUX at 1st & Market!

It’s a gorgeous space and we can’t wait to grow into our future there. We’ll see you at 120 E. 1st St. N., starting with First Friday September 2024.

Guess what? WSU ShiftSpace and Wichita Sketch Club are coming with us! And don’t worry - we hope to transition the original Harvester Arts home on 1st & Washington into full-on artist studio spaces.

Gallery Place Project

The Gallery Place Project creates a sense of pride and belonging in our city and engages, trains and pays local artists to activate underutilized spaces.

Keeper Gallery Place is an experimental space serving as an oasis for creative activity on the Wichita riverfront. Located at the Mid-America All-Indian Musuem at 650 N. Seneca St., it functions as an interactive space where all are welcome and encouraged to flex their creative muscles! The Gallery Place Project is directed by Harvester Arts, in partnership with Mid-America All-Indian Museum, Bokeh Development, the Wichita Foundation, Lifeboat Creative and with support from the Knight Foundation.

Everything’s sizzling at Harvester Arts!

We’re growing every day—expanding programming, embracing new partners, and working to increase the capacity for creatives in Wichita and the surrounding area! In that spirit, the Harvester Arts team created a video to introduce ourselves and tell our story to those who haven’t met us yet. Have a friend who’s looking for a fun volunteer opportunity? Know an artist who could use some guidance or a place to share their work? Maybe your employer would like to sponsor a Harvester Arts event or initiative. Pass along our new sizzle reel so they can get to know us!

Thank You Arts Funders

Harvester Arts received funding for general operational support from the City of Wichita, the Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.

For 12 years, the City of Wichita has granted funding to local arts organizations to recognize, preserve and celebrate Wichita’s rich arts and cultural heritage - a heritage that has a tremendous impact on all residents’ quality of life. In addition, Harvester Arts was supported in part by the Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission, which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.

Examining Structures, Roles, Processes and Practices

To Ensure They Are Fair, Equitable, and Anti-Racist

Harvester Arts is doing the critical work required to examine its structures, roles, processes and practices to ensure they are fair, equitable and anti-racist, and that our actions reflect these values. In light of this, the Harvester Arts Board of Directors and programming are undergoing restructuring. We are actively engaging with a diversity and inclusion trainer to move the organization toward change and growth with accountability.
