It’s time for another Arts MIXR!

Meet and mingle with Wichita’s creative community at this month’s ARTS MIXR, hosted by the City of Wichita Division of Arts and Cultural Services in collaboration with the Arts Council.

This informal gathering is open to all artists and art lovers interested in learning more about the local arts scene.

Dr. Benyshek presents “Contemporary Artists as Shamans: Near and Far”

A thought-provoking lecture based on ten years of cross-cultural research. She explores how artists serve as healers of individuals and society, drawing from mythology, history, and personal experience—including her own shamanic initiation in South Korea.

WAM NIGHTS: Let Me Take You Down – Artist Talk & Panel Discussion

Kendra Cremin, Kelsy Gossett, and Jennifer Ray navigate themes of uncertainty, disconnection, intimacy, and the tension between fantasy and lived experience.

Through photography, they explore personal and cultural narratives of motherhood, queerness, and adoption—challenging societal expectations and the pressure to conform.
