Mapping the Gap: Combining the Creation of Art with Organizing for Access to Healthcare

06/04 from 7-8PM

Kansas faces an urgent need to protect and expand Medicaid, and this event offers a creative way for Kansans to unite and raise their voices through art.

Led by Haysville artist Malissa Long, participants will engage in a hands-on textile art project designed to highlight the gaps in health care access in Kansas communities. The final collaborative artwork will serve as a symbol of the need for grassroots advocacy to transform our state into a place where all Kansans have access to affordable health care when they need it.

Each participant will contribute to the collective work and also create a smaller piece to take home. This family-friendly event welcomes all ages and skill levels - no artistic experience necessary!

RSVPs are appreciated so we can ensure enough supplies for everyone

In a New Light

In a New Light is an exploration of transformation—an evolving dialogue between the artists, their work, and those who experience it. With works by Emily Wittler, Kammy Downs, Sam Gales, Ellie Keppy, Malissa Long, Jeni Doom, and Sarah Chavez, this exhibition reflects themes of growth, evolution, healing, and deconstruction, revealing art’s ability to shift, expand, and redefine itself. Just as every artist views their work in a distinct light, visitors will find their own perspectives evolving, challenged, and illuminated in new ways.

Threads of Pride

Curated by local gay artist & graphic designer Michael K Davenport and funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, this exhibition—created in partnership with The City of Wichita’s Division of Arts & Cultural Services—celebrates the rich and diverse experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals in Kansas.

JAMES GATES — SELECTED NONSENSE, 2023-2025

Longtime Wichita resident and mild-mannered weirdo JAMES GATES presents a disparate collection of silly images, words, and items which have been created, assembled, and curated for your amusement and confusement. Some works are shenanigan-based, while others are merely dingbatty. Recent collaborations/hijinks with other local artists will be highlighted as well.

The Morning Shift

06/07 from 10AM-2PM

Who says the party starts at night? We’re flipping the script with a caffeinated day party series. Music, good coffee, an even better espresso martini, and amazing energy. Come move your body, wake up your spirit, and get home before the sun goes down.
