Vanity Fairy Tales
Vanity Fairy Tales by Stella Hankins explores the emotional tension of growing up — the rush to become an adult and the longing for childhood once it’s gone. Using makeup, portraiture, and abstract painting, the work looks at beauty as a language that shapes identity, confidence, and insecurity. Centered on the mother–daughter relationship, the exhibition reflects on entering womanhood as both personal and inherited. As a Russian immigrant woman, Hankins engages cultural expectations around femininity, using makeup as both material and metaphor to reveal the intimacy of getting ready, the vulnerability of being seen, and the pressures that define girlhood and adulthood.
KIDZ!
KIDZ!, organized by Serena Salerno, is a group show about what we carry from childhood into adult life. Friends and family contribute work reflecting early memories, habits, and ways of seeing that continue to shape them. Salerno also presents sketchbooks and paintings tracing a line from her childhood to her current practice — evolving over time but rooted in the same early curiosities. The show suggests that people don’t fully transform as they grow up; we remain versions of who we were as kids.

Equinox
Equinox: A Collection Exploring Balance, Transition & Light by Beki Nyland is a multidisciplinary body of work inspired by the emotional and environmental shift of the March equinox. Through hairstyling, mixed media, and an atmospheric installation, the collection reflects on duality, rebirth, and the tension between light and dark.
spARTans
spARTans by Wichita Collegiate School highlights the creativity and perspective of student artists. Featuring drawing, painting, mixed media, digital work, and photography, the exhibition celebrates technical growth, personal expression, and the power of visual art.

The Emerging Artist Showcase, presented by the Art & Design Advocates of WSU, features rising creative talent from Wichita State.

Harvester Arts’ 2026–2027 gallery exhibitions are made possible in part by generous support from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
Following Andy Warhol’s will, the mission of The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts is the advancement of the visual arts. The foundation manages an innovative and dynamic grants program while also preserving Warhol’s legacy through creative and responsible licensing policies and extensive scholarly research for ongoing catalogue raisonné projects. To date, the foundation has given nearly $330 million in cash grants to over 1,000 arts organizations around the country and abroad and has donated 52,786 works of art to 322 institutions worldwide.

Join dance artist Mina Estrada as she guides you through an experience in the (im)Permanent Collection galleries that incorporates movement at select works of art. You will learn a movement phrase that embodies an element of each artwork—texture, line, space, or narrative — and will leave with a small dance that represents the kinesthetic and aesthetic experience the group has just shared.

Are you interested in reading your poetry at a future Art Making & Poetry Night?
Art Making & Poetry Night is a relaxed, welcoming evening that brings together listening, making, and sharing. The night features two to three headlining poets, followed by an open mic portion for anyone who feels inspired to read. Art supplies are spread across all the tables, so you’re encouraged to draw, collage, write, or just tinker while you listen.
This is a low-stakes, inclusive event. Whether you’re a seasoned poet or a first-time reader, we want to hear your voice.

Affordable Artist Studios
Harvester Arts and Neighboring Movement announce a new partnership that brings affordable artist studios and expanded creative activity to 1009 S Broadway in Wichita’s South Central (SoCe) neighborhood.
The space provides working artists with affordable studio space, units are available at $1.00 per square foot. The building will also serve as the headquarters for Harvester Arts’ Gallery Place Collective.
