Wichita-based artist Kathleen Shanahan’s mixed-media canvases pursue “all the gritty relationships possible” across image, material, and sensation. Natural forms — a jack-in-the-pulpit, a wading bird’s S-curve, a corkscrew tail, springy curls — are spliced and layered with found objects, from McCall’s pattern pieces to neckties, to spark nimble visual rhymes. The exhibition invites viewers to feel surfaces, peel back layers, and trace correspondences across decades of practice.
Presented in partnership with Harvester Arts as part of the Regional Creatives Exhibition Series.

Local Abundance Productions facilitates an artist series at Harvester Arts celebrating creativity, individuality, and the curiosity of artistic process.
At HUNGRY, artists get 5–10 minutes to share what they’re working on — whether it’s a work-in-progress, a bold experiment, or something deeply personal. After a short intermission, the host leads a talkback between the audience and the artists.
