At Harvester Arts, we believe creative action builds healthy communities. That belief starts with a simple truth: artists are essential civic infrastructure. When you invest in artists, you’re not just supporting a single exhibition or a single career, you’re strengthening the skills, resources, and creative capacity that extend into every corner of our community. Here, the next generation of makers test bold new ideas in a low-barrier, experimental space built just for them. This work doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because people like you choose to invest in artists, in ideas, and in the kind of community capacity that turns creative energy into lasting civic strength. Your gift today doesn’t just fund a show. It builds the infrastructure of a healthier, more connected Wichita.

This week, we are spotlighting Jordan Padfield, who was one of the headlining poets at last Friday’s Artmaking and Poetry Night at Harvester Arts. Jordan is a poet who writes about, “the things that linger, the people we love, the versions of ourselves we outgrow, and the quiet wounds we carry forward.”

It’s okay to be weird. It’s okay to live out loud. It’s okay to be imperfect. In fact, in today’s day and age when everyone is ultra-concerned about how they look, it’s more important than ever to let loose and forget about the status quo.
The Flowing Victress is bringing ECSTATIC DANCE back to Wichita to give you a place to feel, flow, and have fun without judgment.
In this phone-free, no-talking environment, you have the opportunity to tap into the music and run with whatever raw emotion wants to move through you: Joy, grief, rage, ecstasy—you name it.
There is no blueprint; just movement. If you are unfamiliar with ECSTATIC DANCE, it is recommended you watch this video.
The dance is at Harvester Arts. Doors open at 7 PM, and the dance will promptly begin at 7:30 PM—please arrive on time!
It is recommended to bring a yoga mat or blanket, as some folks find stillness to be just what they need during ECSTATIC DANCE.

Long before the rise of advertising, branding, and social media, empires understood that power had to be seen before it could be believed. Armando Minjárez Monárrez: En Cuerpo Presente explores how images become instruments of power. Monuments, rituals, architecture, souvenirs, advertisements, and brands across history have shaped not only how we see one another, but how we come to understand ourselves. Images do not simply reflect identity; they sanction it, circulate it, and assign value to it.
Rather than treating identity as something fixed or inherited, Minjárez Monárrez thinks of it as a cultural architecture constructed through images, memory, performance, and display. His sculptures inhabit the space between monument and commodity, artifact and souvenir, humor and critique. They resist fixed definitions of identity, not by offering alternative images, but by exposing the systems that produce them. If every society builds monuments to the stories it wants people to believe, En Cuerpo Presente asks what kinds of monuments we continue to build today, and what they ask us to believe about ourselves.
